Help is needed in all areas:

Trail marking dates; July 25th & August 1st both dates are

Saturdays we will meet by the Woodland Restaurant at

 9:00 am

a meal will be provided by the club for workers. These are the only 2 days scheduled

to clear and mark the trails. Every one is needed to accomplish this

Set up for the Gresham Badlands Run is Thursday evening at the

grounds we will start at 5:30pm the tracks need to be set up then bleachers need to

be hauled, picnic tables, garbage cans and tents set up.

Friday the village and county roads need to be marked. A

final run of the trail system needs to be done and any corrections need to be made

then. I will be there by 9:00am Please try and help with this event.

The Gresham Badlands Run is what has gotten our foot in the door with developing trails in Shawano County.

Also please do your part to sell those raffle tickets together with the Gresham

Badlands Run this is our big Fundraiser. This year the 2 top sellers will receive a

gift certificate for dinner at a supper club.

If you need to turn in money and ticket stubs see me or Marilyn you can also get

 more tickets from us.

Ok on to Trail development updates:

Gresham trails I am waiting to get a date to go before the Tribal Council

for permission to go permanent. With our Gresham Badlands Run. If they agree we

will be applying for Grant money in April of 2010. The meeting with the DNR

water rights people went well. It is all doable.

ATC Power has completed there letter of compatible use. This letter will

be used along with an informational letter to invite all landowners to a meeting the

last week of August to try and sell the idea of allowing ATV use within the existing

easement they already have with ATC Power Company. The ATC Power lines go all

the way across Shawano County, we would start developing (if granted permission

in the Tigerton and Gresham areas first. The intention would be to eventually

connect with Oconto County. I will not kid you this is going to be a long and

 tedious process.Patientious will be necessary.

I have finally received an e-mail from Diane Conklin with the WI Dept. of

Natural Resources she is responsible for writing the verbiage(rules & regulations)

for the Land owners Incentive program, this program passed government. vote

almost 1 ½  years ago but still is not up and working . The e-mail stated that they are

finally hiring some one to get this done. This program is going to be very helpful to

our projects. What it means is that landowners will be to allow ATV use on their

land. They will not get rich but it will help us convince them to allow us to cross

 their property.

The Novitiate property we are far apart on the price of the property 2

appraisals have been done one by Shawano County and one by the Land owner (both

by licensed appraisers)But we are far apart. The County has stated that they are still

 going to pursue it.

Now some fun stuff:

Lake Hilbert weekend was a lot of fun

There were aprox. 50 people in attendance. Sat. we had a quick meeting to explain

the rules of the poker run and inform everyone to meet back at campground for a

cook out and to award poker run prizes. There were 7 stops on the run Top poker

hand went to Andrea Nelson. Grand prize drawing went to Madison McBride (a

lawn game) the trails were beautiful and riders sited 2 different black Bears. Every

 one had a great time.

Next ride is August 29th at Spur of the Moment Ranch in Mountain WI14221 Helen

Lane 1-800-644-8783 or 1-715-276-3726 Make you reservation soon
