Bay Field & Ahland County trails
I had an opportunity to spend 4 days over the 4th of July in the Ashland area, Iron River to be exact.We were invited up to the Top of the Morn Resort by some friends of ours. We in turn invited our son and his new wife to join us. So they drove up from Chicago for a little red neck weekend upnorth. We all had such a great time.
We hit the trails and did some ATVing. These are some awesome trails very well maintained. And the scenerary was spectacular. I would highly recomend you give this area a try I am sure you will be pleased. We also had some time to do a little fishing the fishing is very good also.

Nicolet State Trail Now Open
After several years of cooperation between the town, county, state and federal agencies, I am thrilled to report the Nicolet State Trail is officially open for the 2009 Memorial Day Weekend to ATVs, bicyclists and pedestrians for the portion of trail previously closed to ATVs through Townsend (CTH T north to the Forest County line).
To the Red Arrow Snowmobile Club and Oconto County Parks Department, as soon as possible, please remove the snow fence and signage prohibiting ATV use along the Nicolet State Trail north of CTH T.
To law enforcement agencies, please be aware the Nicolet State Trail is open and ATVs are allowed on the trail along the STH 32 corridor north of CTH T.

Please feel free to spread the word the Townsend trail connection is open.

UPDATE from Lake Hilbert Campground in Fence WI the Goodman / Dunbar trails sytem
The trail from campground to main trail has been repaired no more big rocks to navigate around
Black River Falls Area Clark Cty. And Jackson Cty.
I can not say enough about this area these are some of the most diverse trails I have ever ridden. You will experience all terrains from sand to mud to rock to clay. There are lots of play areas and the scenerary is absolutely beautiful. We have camped we have stayed at the Best Western and the Bunk House. All have been a greta time. The people in this area are so friendly and appreciative to ATVers. It makes you feel like coming back infact I think I went there 4 years in a row.
I do need to talk about the Bunk House a bit, if you are up for a Challenge you may want to stop in here and go into the play area. But be ready for a Challenge like I said! The rest of us will be watching you on the Tv's inside or maybe in the spectators spot. This place is a full operating Bar and Grill so take a break and get a snack , oh yeah and don't forget to watch those TV screens for some live entertainment or maybe be the entertainment.

Check out the new trail system in Northern Wisconsin. Some of our club members and myself recently hauled our ATV's to Langelade County to ride the new trail system. We parked our trucks and trailers at the Wolf's Den on Hwy A in Pearson Wi. We encountered some awesome trails and beautiful landscape. The trails can be challengeing at times but that is what ATVing is about. Every one there totally enjoyed the ride. Charles and I were actually lucky enough to see a large black Bear. My hat goes off to the new trails and the new club that developed them. This club is called Wolf River Riders ATV Club, representing the Pearson and Pickerel WI. area. check them out at www.wolfriverriders.com
It's always good to find a new trail, if you do please send me an e-mail or leave a message in the guest book for others to see.
