The Club Christmas party was held on December 16 with many members attending and enjoying a meal together.  Members also donated several boxes of non-perishable food items for SAFPARC (Shawano Area Food Pantry and many new toys for Toys for Tots.  This is the second year Club members have donated to these much needed programs.  A big thank you to all who participated.  It is wonderful to see the generosity of our members.

Several members also participated in Shawano’s Holiday Parade on December 4.  Their hard work in decorating their ATV’s paid off with a first place trophy for the non-profit group category.  Many thanks to Mike and Linda Pasterski for coordinating all of  the parades that the Club participates in.

There are 2 upcoming ATV Safety classes being sponsored by the Happy Trails Club and the DNR,  Anyone born on or after 12/31/1988 wishing to ride an ATV on public lands must be certified by taking this class.  Students  must  be at least 11 to take the class and the certificate is valid for anyone 12 or older.  Cost for the class is $10.

The first class will be held in the Shawano High School library on February 9, 10 & 11, 2010 from 6 PM to 8:30 PM.  Students need to pre-register by calling Marilyn Burlo at (715) 524-4744. 

There will also be a class at the  Pulaski High School LG-1 room.  The dates are March 9, 10 and 11, 2010.  Students must  pre-register for this class by calling Dave Schultz at (715) 758-8711.

The January Club meeting will be held on January 20, 2010 at the VFW in Shawano.  This is an important meeting as we will be accepting nominations to fill the President’s position.  Wendy has indicated she will work with the new president to make the transition a smooth one. If anyone has any questions about the job prior to the meeting please give Wendy a call.
