NEWSLETTER --  NOVEMBER 2009

The Happy Trails ATV Club was called to order at 7 p.m. by President Wendy followed by the Pledge of Allegiance.  The minutes of the October 14th meeting were read by Marilyn, in the absence of Dave.  The treasurer’s report for the month of
October was read with a total of $8,616.09 in both accounts.
Shawano Holiday Parade will be held on Friday, Dec. 4th – meet at 5:30 p.m. at the old Zwicker lot.  Mike P., parade
chairman, encourages members to come out and ride in this parade.  Candy will be purchased for this event.
Names were taken of those interested in volunteering to ring bells for the Salvation Army.  Wendy will get an assignment
for a Friday night spot and call interested members as of the exact date and time slot.
The club’s CHRISTMAS PARTY will be held on the regular December meeting night, Wednesday,
December 9th---   But starting at 6:30 p.m.      Food will be catered in by Sally’s Catering.    It is
necessary for you to RSVP to Marilyn at 524-4744 as soon as possible, so that the correct amount of
food can be ordered.  If you plan to attend this event – please make a call to her (o.k. to leave a message on answering
machine).  Motion was made by Scott, 2nd by Jeanne, to approve an open bar for an hour or two. Motion carried.
Members are asked to bring a dish to pass (cookies, snacks, appetizers, etc.)  We will again collect food for SAFPARC
and toys for the Toys for Tots program that night.
Dave Schultz reports that an ATV Safety Class will be held in January or February at the high school.
WATVA’s annual meeting will be April 16-18 in Wausau.
It is with regrets that the club accepted the resignation of Wendy Hafner as
president of the club, effective Dec. 31, 2009.  The vice president will take over as president and
an election for a new president must be held.  Scott Pieper has made it known that he will not be accepting an office
the club, effective with the May election.  We need someone to step up and come forward now and accept the position of
president so that we can continue to grow and pursue our goal of trails in Shawano County.
(Attached to this Newsletter is the letter of resignation from Wendy.)
